Argeton is the original supplier and a worldwide leader in rainscreen terracotta clay tile systems and as such enjoys a dominating presence on the world stage. Despite a fairly recent entry into the U.S. market, the Argeton system has been successfully installed on nearly 2,000 projects in more than 25 countries and most recently the Atlantic Terminal in Brooklyn, the first use of a terracotta system on a high rise building in America.
The Argeton system is designed to accommodate a wide variety of substrates and assemblies. Our system has been successfully installed over steel framing, wood, masonry, and precast concrete, utilizing hat channels or t-channels to accommodate the substrate. The system and components have been fully tested and approved all over the world. Third party testing has been successfully completed on windloading, air infiltration, freeze/thaw, water absorption, water tightness, rainscreen performance, flexural strength, deflection, and load bearing capabilities of the attachment system (clips and rivets). Argeton has completed additional testing for seismic performance in France, China and the United States.
The Argeton System is owned and operated by Wienerberger Company, the world's largest producer of bricks and second largest supplier of clay tiles, and also holds leading positions with pavers in Europe. Wienerberger owns and operates 252 plants worldwide in 24 different countries (Revenues: 2007: $4+ Billion est.).
